Catching Up Once More...Matt and Anne-Katherines Visit!

This is the day we, Matt, Anne-Katherine, dad and I spent at Steven's orphanage. This shows the kids lining up to wash their hands before lunch.  We played games with them, taught them a fun song, and fed them lunch.  The night before we made over a hundred peanut butter sandwiches.  We also bought soda, and bagged little bags of potato chips, all of their favorite foods which is quite a change from their regular food, ugali (maize/corn flour) cooked into sort of a "mush", and sukuma-wiki (boiled kale), and maybe rice or beans....usually they have only one meal a day.  This is the favorite part of our visit to the orphanage.
I will post more photos later about the rest of our day with Steven and the kids.
Always someone to help the little ones.
Following photos show when we fed the kids lunch.  They are always so polite, never pushing or shoving.  They all wait patiently in line for their turn to have a sandwich (peanut butter) made with white bread (their favorite), a drink of soda, and a small bag of potato chips.  A meal fit for a King!
Another one of my favorite photos.  I wish each of you could have this experience...maybe some day you will.  I am trying to have enough to share with every single one of you! Enjoy the following photos.
Matt doing something you never forget.
Always polite, waiting in line for their turn.
The eyes are what get me every time!  So beautiful.  They seem to tell their own story.
The kids love love love "lolli-pops"

Photo out of place...don't know how to fix it....this is the youngest little one, washing hands to get ready for lunch.  The older kids are so good to help the little ones, the teachers are so kind and gentle with all of them.  The following photos show Anne-Katherine handing out the individual cards that Annie made for them. She made, I think 90 cards, with messages of love, and encouragement to them.  She used it as a Young Woman Project.
Steven explaining the cards to the kids.

You can see how the kids loved Annie's notes, and the suckers!!  It was a great great day for all of us.  Thank you Annie.
