Maasai Mara With Matt and Anne-Katherine Part I

This was an amazing sight!!  We came down this one road, and there was a Cheetah, surveying the surroundings from the top of a fellow safari rover.  Notice how all of the people are hunkered down.  Rueben, our driver, said they were doing exactly what they should have done.  They were bending over, and not making a sound, or a movement.  The cat sat there for about 10-12 min., then just jumped off and walked away.  You can kinda follow it on the next photos.  The actual "jumping off" is on my video, but as you know I can't download videos, I'll have to show that to you when I get home....hope you enjoy the "still-life-sequence"!

This would have stopped my heart I am sure!!  Rueben said this happens frequently.  (Glad I didn't know that before hand!!)  He said Cheetahs are not agressive animals (Oh yeah!! Did you ever watch National Geographic Wild Rueben!?!)...I didn't think so...anyway, he said when that happens you are just to do what those people were doing...you sit very still, and....wait!!....I would have died!!

To our surprise, she had a baby...notice all of the fur/hair still on the baby!

We are having lunch at the "Oleander" which is right by the Center.  We are having lunch with Betterman, Thursday July 26th.   Matt and A.K. left early the next morning.
