Where we Live!!

These are the steps we go up and down a thousand times a day!

We are the oldest missionaries here...and we live on the top

floor. We think that is cool!! It is very good exercise!! So now I have

finally loaded all of the pictures showing where we live!! Welcome

to our African home. We feel very safe...cozy and grateful for the

secure environment in which we are blessed to live in.

This is OUR front gate....D6!! We live right next door

to the Kellams..D5...they came one day after we came! They are

big BYU fans...but we made a truce the first day and

we are getting along fine!! Ha Ha!!

This is the view out of our bedroom window. It is

another amazing thing. Just over our "security fence",

with barbed wire and the works, is a little family...right in

the middle of the city...with a little patch of land that they

farm...They just added the little blue room you can see.

They are working the land..they sell the corn you see growing.

You should see that mom scrub her little boy..in a big wash

tub...I'm surprised he has any skin left on his little body...and

she is always singing!!!

This is the view out of our living room windows. The

view is great...It is very green...The guards are washing

cars every day. We pay them 400 schillings, which is

easy to convert...move the decimal....$4.00!! We live on the third floor, really the fourth floor because of the

covered parking under the flats, so our view is the

best! They will also wash our rugs, the good old fash-

ioned way...beat them to death and hang to dry!

This is our wash room....front door...and guest room!..We have

two bedrooms and two bathrooms...We had a Sr. conference so we

had guests from Dar ES Salaam..the coast in Tanzania...the Worthens

from Washington State...they are very jealous of our weather...which is

about 70 year round!!!

First Sunday in Nairobi

At the top of this picture you can see the little girl in purple

who wanted to carry my bag. It was heavy, but she insisted.

When these two little girls saw that happen, they wanted to

carry something also, so dad gave them his scriptures. He

gave each one of them a "handle", and they were off running!

You could hear them giggle all the way down to the truck!

Elder Pugmire and ?...once again...no understandies! No matter...

She was cute as a button! The children love the missionaries!

This is Elder Tuttle and ?...darling little girl, but I couldn't under-

stand what her name was....Elder and Sister Tuttle (Dick and Janet)

are from Farmington. They are the Humanitarian Missionaries.

We are going to a "Turn Over" with them this coming Mon. We will

be gone three days. A Turn Over is when a well has been connected

and finished and we then Turn it Over to the village in a big

ceremony...We are excited. We will be taking pictures and inter-

viewing the village leaders, hoping to create our first article for

local media.
