A Trip to Naivasha!

On our way to Lake Naivasha, which is about 60 miles north-east of Nairobi.  This is part of the great Rift Valley.  It is beautiful.  Too bad I didn't realize I was getting all of those power lines in there.....kinda takes the remote "wildness" out of it doesn't it???
This is Lake Naivasha, usually there are thousands of flamingo, but the Lake is too low right now, which makes the water too salty, and the birds don't like it so much!!!
I was a little nervous about that camel behind us, he was acting a little friskey!...The masai held my hand and said, "Stand still and you will be okay!".....I believed him!!  This was on the shore of Lake Naivasha.
Just how often will you see this sign in America???    Not very often, but you see it very often in Africa!!
This is what you will see along the road....this was on our way to the hotel, we also saw zebra, hippos and giraffes.
I think this is too dark, but this is a photo of the new church, and the road that runs in front of it.  That is a donkey at the top of the steps off to the right. He was very much at home! Yes, the ride to the church is very bumpy!!
This is the new church, a remodled old store, that was just finished in time for the Naivasha "Group" to become an official "Branch".   The bright orange color is really quite pretty, and VERY African!!  They are growing like crazy, and are almost too big for this building already!!  That's what we like to hear!!
Sister Holmes is getting mighty brave getting that close!!
Bad Picture, but it shows how close the animals were to where we were staying.  You can see the "rooms" in the back ground!
This is looking out onto the lawn of the hotel where we stayed.
